What is Pension Release?

Getting at the money from your pension is sometimes known as 'Pension Release'; whether it is a Personal Pension or an old Company Pension.

Why would I be interested in Pension Release?

  • You may not have retired, but need some money now
  • Perhaps you are thinking about retirement and want to know your options

What do I need to qualify to release money from my pension?

  • You need to be between 55 and 64 year of age
  • You have a Personal Pension or an old Company Pension (not State Pension)
  • You are not currently drawing from your pension or paying into it

If you answered YES to all of the above, then you can release your money now, even if your pension was originally set up to an older age, say 65.

So if releasing money from your pension, whether it's a Company Pension or Personal Pension, is something that interests you then just complete the "Get Started" form on the right. This will lead you to a secure page where you can tell us what pensions you want us to look into.

There is no obligation on your part and no cost just to find out your options.

Protected Rights

Protected Rights Pensions are from contracting out of the state pension scheme. You weren't allowed to get your money out of these types of pensions before age 60, however; the rules have now changed allowing access from age 55. It's even possible now to release a cash lump sum, tax free, which was not allowed before.

Please note that Pension Release does not apply to State Pensions.
